Look around and see for yourself. Americans are living on credit. It is estimated that the average American family owes over $12,000 in credit card debt. Add in the mortgage payment, one or two car loans, school loans and a couple of other account payments and you will see why 60% of American families are one paycheck away from a financial crisis. It has reached the point where retirement for many Americans has become a dream that will never be reached.
The education system in this country teaches a lot of things, but financial responsibility is not one of them. Our kids graduate from high school without being taught how to handle their personal finances. I guess we expect them to learn it on their own. Based on the condition of the majority of Americans and their debt load, it is not something that the older generations are capable of teaching.
Throw in the lack of self-control that has translated into the "got to have it now, because I need it.... earned it....want it.....have to impress the neighbors....let's just charge it and pay later" attitude and we have an American population that is burdened by debt, have little, if any, savings and don't know what to do about it.
Debt is one of the leading causes of divorce, abuse and numerous other problems that plague the American family. We are looking for people who understand the seriousness of this problem and want to assist the American people to do something about it. We have tried to find products and programs that we think have value and can help the American family get out of debt and start to build the equity that will be needed in future years.
